Janusz Kamiński is a Polish cinematographer and director known for his long-standing partnership with Steven Spielberg, for whom he has shot many major films since 1993, including the Oscar-winning Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan. Kamiński emigrated from Poland in 1981, studying film at Columbia College and the American Film Institute before beginning his Hollywood career shooting low-budget films for Roger Corman. He has since earned two Academy Awards for Best Cinematography and a reputation for creating striking, emotional visuals, and has also directed films himself.
