Two years after a society destroying event, the few, scattered survivors must make their way in their new, difficult lives. Two friends deal with the painful loss of another and must learn to let go while a lone, young adult struggles with this ideology, frantically searching for his mother in hope that she is still out there. Once brought together, they help each other, although reluctant, while still battling this dystopian world in which the outside air is toxic.
