Interesting Concept

average rating is 1 out of 5

You have an interesting concept. You just have to pay more attention to all the details. The details are what keep your audience in your film or take them out. A couple of those would be, get real props (the toy phone says you didn't go to the effort), more script development (really laying out your story beats so that they really add layers to your story is critical), Acting (really rehearse with your actors so that the performances are believable). Really hone development and preproduction

Hot location

average rating is 2 out of 5

Watching this film I was drawn to the lav mic. Not sure if this was brought up in class but the mic will work just as well under the clothing. Also great use of the water bottles for the water running over, I found it funny and a great way to not mess up the location.

Funny phone

average rating is 2.3 out of 5

I like that you made the choice to do an outside daytime film. Most were inside at dark and your choice was harder for a dark film. The play phone was really funny and the bottled water was the best. There were some bad sound transitions between shots. I can tell this took a lot of planning and effort. Well done.!

Knives Out

average rating is 1.4 out of 5

You have a concept here that I feel is worth developing but in it's current state it's just a little too out there to be able to follow. Hitchcock was mysterious but he didn't usually take it to the level of bizarre. I could see that you planned your shots and that preparation paid off and gave you some style to leverage. Spending a little more time in development will really help you once you get the camera out to start filming.

Killer Movie!

average rating is 1.5 out of 5

I wasn't too sure about much in the story, but I did like how you started it with a murder. That's very often how a mystery story begins, especially Hitchcock movies. You had plenty of camera setups that really helped tell your story. I feel like you could have used a bit more time in development with the story structure. It's really hard to tell a comprehensive story in 5 minutes and even the pros have a hard time doing it right. Good job! Keep making movies!!!
