Story, Story, Story
From the look of your film it's clear that your team knows what they're doing. Your lighting, shots and composition make that evident. Now you need to really spend time in development to flesh out your story. Without a good story you only have good looking shots. Right now you have a great moment in this guys life but in 5 min. you want to tell a whole story. A well fleshed out beat sheet will help you here. make sure you have a beginning, middle and an end. Keep making films. You'll get there.
Good Start - Tell Me More
I like that you took the time to light. Good effort there. Nice close angles to really draw the emphasis. Great foreground and background composition. These are all great elements, we now need more story. Why's the coffee cause him issues. Is someone at work trying to kill him? An opening title sequence could have told a lot of back story, including the deadline. You've got some good elements, you just need to flesh out the story from an event to a full plot. Keep making films.
everyone needs coffee at midnight
Interesting idea that many of us can relate to. I hope he didn't die from the coffee. Midnight wake me up cups are are all to familiar to a large population. Good job on the camera shots and angles and the time that went into production.
The Subtle Whispers
Though I wanted there to be a little more story I was very intrigued by your storytelling ability. Great work with shooting it in black and white and I loved your use of practical lights to light your scene. It was very apparent that you put a lot of thought into the composition of every shot which was great. I would have just loved a little more time spent in development really honing your story in. Had you played with a couple more minutes of story I think you would have really nailed it.
Whispers Almost Made Me Scream
I loved the B&W! I think the script could have used a bit more set up so I could understand what deadline he was up against. I didn't know what he was working on or why it was so important. There were quite a few cuts I think could be tightened up. A bit of excess on the head and tail of the cut can really slow the film down. I also didn't quite understand why he suddenly started hearing voices. The footage was exposed nicely though and flowed well when cut together.
