A great film

average rating is 4.5 out of 5

I think that this short film had great writing and good directing. I liked the suspense, especially when I thought the killer was going to be on the other side when the husband opened the door but it was just the dog. I also really enjoyed the editing and the sound effects. I believe that the acting for the wife could be a little better, she could be more cheerful. I also think that the husband could have been more "scared", perhaps. Overall, I think that his was a great short film.

Very Good Short Film

average rating is 3.6 out of 5

I really love the camera work, especially how it is mostly one cut and follows the main character throughout the length of the film. However, there are a few small problems with the dialogue between the characters. The tone/volume doesn't feel right, and the replies are a little fast. And the milk scene. If the wife told the husband to do the laundry, a better take on this scene would be him looking in the fridge, then closing it as she tells him to do the laundry. Anyways, it's really good!

Amazing job

I thought that was an excellent piece. The fact you got all that in one shot was very impressive. Two things to point out is that it would've looked much better if you could've gotten a real radio or even a fake one instead of a TV, which was just off while the news was going. The other thing is that the man wasn't actually holding his hand over her mouth when quieting her. I also would've suggested to start the background music at the beginning to help draw the audience's attention.

The Best film I've seen so far on Sneak On The Lot

average rating is 4.1 out of 5

This is really a great film, O really like it. I think one conituse shot is underrated and havn't been done a lot so it was nice seeing that kind of style being done here. I think the issue I have is that I can see the mic on your shirt. Cinematography is good and the writing is good. Editing is very well done, I like how you were able to transend one shot to another. Acting is pretty good.

Lots of prep work

average rating is 3.4 out of 5

This film took a great deal of teamwork to assemble and it comes through the finished project. I think it would have been more dynamic if it was shot at night. It appears that the guy comes home in the middle of the day from work. It also seemed a bit too convenient for his wife to take a nap in the afternoon. Well done.

One Shot. Wow. How many takes???

What a dance

average rating is 4 out of 5

So cinematography clearly shines on this one. 3 Things that pulled me out. 1 That mic on the main character shirt Director or DP should have spoke up and changed that. 2. DP you also gotta watch for those reflections, we can see your lights and people holding them at 2:30. 3. Neighbor who came to the door with his shirt inside out. Overall great job and props for pulling off the one shot. Clearly there is a lot of talent here just need to get picky on the small details.

Awesome One Take Film!

average rating is 4.8 out of 5

Hitchcock would be proud of the actor blocking to create suspense and the eventual climax.

Often times the use of gimbals can feel very overly done. I felt the framing and proximity of all actors in camera made it feel intimate, but not too close.

The sound design felt very professional and understated, but added to the action.

Great One Shot!

Nice execution on the one shot. Great way to use the camera angle to allow your actors to move and pop into frame. The hardest thing to work with is the lighting when working in a full action set like you are here. Remember that the camera has an exposure index that you need to work within. When a light is closer to an actor it will get brighter and start to blow out the top of the exposure of the camera. having a dimmer on that light and a couple practice takes on how much is needed.

oblivious...

average rating is 4.2 out of 5

This is a great film! The use of the camera helped weave this story and made it believable. The filmmakers really thought out and planned the movements of the camera and actors to make this film film really work! the only two things that jumped out to watch out for is the wife, needs to hug or kiss husband to make it believable. also when the guy opens the door to get the dog, its way over exposed, use the iris to iris down when the door opens then back open when the door closes. nice work!

Overall good sound design.

I appreciate the time that went into the sound design. The sound transitions were mostly smooth and the sound cues were great. There was a lot of walking around, but overall this film was thought out and planned. Good job!

Suspense is King

average rating is 4.5 out of 5

Congratulations on job really well done. I loved how you took the prompt of mimicking Hitchcock and really hit it out of the park. Excellent camera movement and the transitions were great. I love how you took on The Rope challenge of Hitchcocks and pushed to do it in one move. This really increased the tension for the viewer. Great effort with the sound design. The only hang-ups that took me out of the film were the acting and the exposure at the door. Other than that, nice work.

Amazing One Take!

average rating is 3.3 out of 5

I loved the long camera takes and how they moved the camera around the house. Very Hitchcock! It isn't easy to do a long camera take like this and these guys did an amazing job. I think it would have been better shot at night with a storm going outside. The mic was placed a bit too obvious and distracted me a bit. The acting was pretty great and drew me into the story.
