Great film. The acting is pretty good, the cinematography are great. The only problem I have with the film is that it could of explained more. I think with more writing and expand upon the story, you'll have a great film. It's easy to figure out what's going on but there are some plot holes. Overall, great film!!

I'd like to take a bit of a different approach to your critique. Briefly tell where you fell short but elaborate on what you did great. Your actors performances was your weakest point and is what took me out of your film. Other than that you did a lot of things right here: Loved your lighting. Very film noir! The way you cast shadows, superb. Your zoom in on the knight very Hitch. Casting is awesome. Great set dressing. Loved the skull reveal. You did a lot of great things. Keep making films.

Great effort. You really took on the prompt and your style is very much like Hitchcock. Though the acting is pretty stiff and not very dimensional I love the fact that you casted the role with age appropriate characters. A great looking character for sure. All you needed to do is really rehears you actors until they really feel comfortable with the lines. Your story was overall pretty good. But for your acting you could have done quite well. Keep up the good work.

This film was definitely dark. I liked the sound effects you used to let us as the viewer know something happened and we didn't need to see it actually happen. The sound design could have been a bit tighter maybe with a better microphone or mix as the atmosphere noise was loud. I would have also enjoyed a few more angles of he chess board as the game was taking place from each persons perspective. I think you did a great job and it looks like you spent a lot of time planning this. Did he die?

Great effort here. You chose a great Hitchcockian style story. A great concept and I like where you're going with it. You took a simple concept and layered it in with complexity. That said, I would have liked to have seen a little more development on the story elements to flesh it out a bit more. Your choice of lighting is perfect. Thank you for making the effort there and for using lights! Very well done there, a great choice for the prompt. Keep making films. You have great potential.

I liked how you shot it in B&W to keep with the Hitchcock theme. The concept for this project is pretty solid but difficult to do well. I thought you did a pretty good job with the writing and the casting was pretty cool as well. I could have used a bit more coverage and story setup. I didn't quite understand why he went to play chess with this guy. I also think the King should have gotten a bit more agitated when the guy wanted to leave. It was a great idea and fun to watch. Well done!
