Wished this was an hour long film.
The acting is not bad and the cinematography is amazing!! Writing is great and I wished this was a full feture length film.
Neighborhood watch
I think this film was absolutely amazing and had me so attached that I could feel what the main character was feeling. Even with Michael, his friend he was writing to, I couldn't help but think what he could of been thinking or how worried he would be. It was attention grabbing and I would love for there to be a part two.
well done horror film
this film was really well made, the camera work was great. the witting and story was creepy, love the ending this was a splendid horror film
Shades of David Lynch
I like the unsettled feeling this film creates. It leaves much of the action up to the viewers imagination. Finding the labeled boxes in the house was very odd and interesting. I found the VO a bit difficult to understand in spots. It might have been helpful to lower the foley and SFX when he was searching the house in order to make him sneakier. It reminded me of David Lynch in it's suburban setting and oddness about the neighborhood that is never explained. Nice work!
Write Sometime...
A well crafted little short. Good camera work and pacing. Maybe too much VO. But I really liked this project.
Neighborhood Watch
I think this film is okay but seems lacking in its objectivity. I can see the purpose of storyline but I feel it lacks enough to carry me through to conclusion. I liked some of the shots, but wasn't blown away.
The acting by main character was okay I but wasn't enamored by second line casting.
Extremely well done!
I felt the overall production value was very high.
Great use of available light in each scene, the subtle sound design added to the overall story and the music was used for just the right places. I felt the camera work was just as Roger Deakin recommends. Not distracting and pulls you into the story
The acting was very subtle and understated. It felt very natural and well done.
I think the Director did a fantastic job of balancing all the elements into a perfect thriller.
Great Idea
I found this film to be enjoyable to watch. The Cinematography was nice and worked well with the low light night scenes. The sound needs some work and I am not sure why the guy was so loud in the house, why didn't the zombie not hear him in the kitchen? The twist at the end was a nice touch and I got it when we set back up on the front porch. Minor fixes and a great job!!
beware of the neighbors
I like the concept of this film and the writing. The music choice is scary, and I liked it. When the guy was in the neighbors house, I would have like to see the sound of him opening drawers and cupboards to be way more subtle, because the girl would have heard him. This could be done by muting those sounds or taking those sounds out and adding back in atmosphere noise. Great scene seeing him looking for the letters, and then the sound design choice to layer the letter reading.
Neighborhood Watch
this film seems to tick all the boxes, well written, well acted, well directed and photographed very well. I felt uncomfortable from the start. the choice of actors were great. all in all a great piece of work.
Keep a Watch on This Team
Great film and great concept. Very Hitchcock and you did a great job keeping it violence free yet VERY suspenseful. It can be done because you did it. Your cinematography was top notch. Great opening title sequence while unraveling the story and the music throughout was spot on. You really created some great tension and left the audience thinking in the end. Your attention to the lighting and composition was great. Well written script. Simple yet complex. Congratulations. A job very well done.
Very Nicely Done
First off, the cinematography in this project was heads and tails above its competitors. The use of the depth of field and the framing were top notch. The one thing that could have been more defined was the level of suspense. The story was interesting and unique but we never did find out why the neighbors are so weird. Still, the technical aspects of this film are rare in student films. Very nicely done!
