dating in covid
I like that you used the plexiglass between the two actors as it gave the awkward date more awkwardness. I think a more contrast look maybe a night time date would have been closer to resembling Deakins, but I appreciate the work that went into this. Good job.

Every Shot Counts
I like your effort here. You had a couple shots that really stood out that you thought them through: the top view of the coffee cup, the shots you used to create a strange tension between them. Now take that even further to make your films even better. Think about every shot and how it can tell your story. Maybe a slow pull out making the audience feel even more distant from the characters. Camera movement, really take advantage of what that can do for you story. Good job. Keep filming!

Contrasting Your Characters
You can tell that your filmmaking team has a good grasp on how to make films. Now I challenge you to really think though what you can do to even better tell your story. Your film is well exposed but use your lights to build in contrast: playing with light areas and dark areas of your frame, light and dark faces.Your characters are feeling awkward, what angles can you use to really make them feel that way. Frame each of them in uncomfortable framing positions in the screen. Use camera movement.

Don't Hesitate to Take Risks
Good job. I liked what you did here on several fronts but I want to challenge you to take risks in your filmmaking. Make it unique. Push the boundaries. Really light it in a way that isn't right in the middle, just being exposed right, really play with composition of your actors in the frame, move the camera. A quick note: Look at the first shots of your couple and identify where you crossed the 180 degree line. Analyze where you crossed the line and why. Good job though. Keep making films!

Dating In A COVID World
This is a cute little story that will remind people what dating was like during the era of COVID. Your shots were well exposed and your writing was pretty decent. It's obvious that you were paying attention to the lighting but I think you could have spent a bit more time having the images tell your story and set the mood. Good job! I'm looking forward to watching your next film.
