Blown away
I'm blown away with this film. The writing is great, the cinematography are beautiful. Well done!
Trash Day review
I think this film is very well written to be suspenseful but also cheesy. The story line was pretty easy to follow, and they made interesting so the audience wouldn't get bored.
Pretty good
I think this film looked very good. The shots and cinematography are what stood out the most to me. The hallway shot towards the end was very good and well thought out, it captured the emotion and horror factor very well. The editing was clean and not too choppy. The acting was good, but could've been better. The plot was pretty well thought out, and the fact that we don't know who the man pouring water is added a level of unpredictability and uncertainty.
good film... bad story
This film looked like it took a lot of effort to do and had a good pre-production. The aesthetic was amazing dialogue great, and transitions were perfect it just that I'm not sure if the story is supposed to be scary or dramatic and also I'm kind questioning why they casted the mom to be the same age as the son.
Creepy but Incoherent
This film is incredible. They did a good job with not just putting a camera in front of the screen to film the footage of Super Contra (a nice reference) and the scripting sounded like the characters were really just having a conversation. My only complaint is that I'm still not sure what the point was. So the kid got locked out for a minute. Big deal. What was the screaming? why are the other characters acting so weird? How was the game playing itself? End credit scene needed...
Followed the Challenge Faithfully
As the other reviews mentioned this one was really well lit and the cinematography was solid all around. Those final shots with the flashing lights down the hallway were phenomenal. I wish the reveal at the end was a bit more conclusive, especially given the amount of time left until the 3 minute mark. I hope to see this group together again for the contest later in October.
Great Job! Good Lighting!
This little film, although strange, did a really great job following the prompt of the cinematography - Part I challenge. They obviously took some time to light the scenes and did a pretty decent job doing so. Very well done!
Trash day..........
Really good , lighting was good, nice angles. Mom being played by someone who was his age was not believable. Kitchen was a bit bright guy pouring water could have been in shadow, at the end we want to know what mom did.
A Prompt Follower
In my opinion this film followed the actual prompt of the challenge better than all the others. It is obvious they lit every shot and spend some time doing it. The story is good but not as tight as I felt it could be. It left me a bit hanging, but this challenge was all about lighting so I give it high marks.
Deakins Would Be Proud
This team followed the prompt really well. They were supposed to focus on lighting and composition, which they did throughout. They lit the exteriors and the interiors. The shots were well exposed. The story was a bit confusing but this Challenge was all about the lighting so I give it high marks.
Great Execution
Great job with your film. Though you had a pretty strong story and script (I would have like to have seen the ending to be a little more conclusive and defined) you really did a great job of adhering to the prompt and lighting your film throughout. Playing with lights and darks as we were hoping everyone would. Your character standing in the hallway was perfectly lit. The only thing that took me out of your story was casting your mom character as a teenager. Keep making films. Great potential
Excellent film
This film was well thought out. It is obvious that time was spent on preproduction because every aspect looks and sounds great! I like that you used lighting and sound ques to lead the viewer and your risk to not show the viewer everything on camera. I can see that you really tried to light and shoot this project like Deakins. Great Job!
