Be a Critic Every film here was made by a student who took a risk. Your job is to engage with it seriously — rate the craft, write something honest, and mean it. Scores are blind until all reviewers are in. Nobody sees anything until everyone has spoken. That's the deal.

You did a great job telling the story of what is going on without saying it. You used some great examples of composition to tell the story. You put your lonely character off in the distance from other characters that were right in the foreground. A great way to communicate emotion. Putting the boy in the left front corner in the foreground and all the other people in the background on the right. The fact that he's facing off screen and away from the people also tells the story. Great Job.

There are a couple things that I really liked about your piece and how you used different elements of cinematography to tell your story. I really like seeing the boy through the glass. Putting a separator between us and the character creates distance. I liked the use of light and darkness on your girl character. I might have done it in reverse...lighting up the guys in the background and then leaving the girl in the dark to comment on her state but I still like what you did. Good job.

I'll focus on just one shot that really worked for me whether you did it on purpose or not.The shot: two boys in the foreground and the girl in the background. Interesting choices that tell story.. You put the boys on the left of frame (unsettling feeling, they're leaving someone out) and her over their shoulder but not on the far right (she's close to them but far away) It feels unbalanced, the girl feels out of place. It doesn't feel like a natural framing which describes her feeling. Nice job

Your message really is something that young people need to see. You did a great job of telling the story without saying a word. Some of your exposures could have been better, and the use of depth of field would also have been a value add. But I loved your project and I hope this challenge helped you see filmmaking just a little bit more in-depth.

I really liked the message of this PSA. I think you could have exposed your scenes quite a bit better but you did a good job of telling a story without saying anything. I also think your actors were pretty convincing. Great Job!

I really liked this project and it spoke to me. I think the exposures weren't quite right but the team made a fantastic effort to make the cinematography tell the story, which is what this challenge was all about.
