Wowowowowow
I love the cinematography, bizarre acting, eerie score, sound design and pace. This short film is well produced and fascinating. Change nothing.
Stylish and EPIC
I loved the use of cinematography and music throughout this film. Every shot contains such a thick amount of atmosphere, with the music and composition and blocking. Excellent work from everyone involved. I loved the style, the atmosphere, the music, the cinematography, the voice. I can really tell the director has a unique style with this piece.
A Grasp Of The Craft
I'm confident that this team could produce some truly amazing work. Their understanding of cinematography is very strong. I like how they framed some shots and their use of depth of field was wonderful. Next time they should focus a bit more on the script but their visuals are great.
Great Use Of Focal Lengths
Great job with the focal lengths. You really told a fairly complex story with only visuals, not a simple thing. The music was selected well and fit with the story perfectly. This team used focal length exceptionally well. I thoroughly enjoyed this project!
Great Shots!
There was some REALLY great cinematography/storytelling going on in this film. You really used the depth of field well. The shot of the kid on the road, standing between light and shadow, and the reverse sunset, was fantastic! The story could have been deeper but your cinematography was awesome! Don't forget to apply what you learned to your next film.
Meaning Behind Every Shot
You've really got some talent. Some really great shots in your film. The challenge I give you now is that every shot have reason and meaning. One example I'll highlight is the threatening character that stands in the sun on the road and the other character is in the shade with the sun behind him. You might have made those choices consciously to say that he is in the dark but has the light (or the right) behind him. Every shot should have reason which I felt some did and some didn't. Nice work.
Bold Choices
I really liked some of your bold choices here. I liked how you just lived on some of your shots longer than would be normal. Bold framing choices...the shot of the forrest as he walks through the frame. Looked great. Among others. Here's a note for your though...though I loved these shots a lot, a couple I wasn't sure what you were telling me. One example is the long shot of him scratching his hand before it pans up. As a viewer I was confused. Be bold just be bold with a purpose. Keep filming!
Some Husky Cinematography
There were a lot of things I liked about your film from a cinematic perspective. The aspect ratio you chose, great composition shots, your low angle shots, I loved the shot of the cows at the end (half the frame is black and more. I like your bold cinematic choices. They really helped keep my attention and tell your story. I felt that your story was a little week and could have been developed a bit more but other than that, nice work.
