Drawn In By The Talent
That opening shot of Maine should be in a travel commercial... amazing! I think the Irish kid should have had an accent or have been written as an American. It threw me that there was no accent. Your setups were strong and I was drawn into the story, which means I wasn't paying attention to the technical skills of the filmmakers, which is a good thing.

Good story, please consider switching angles up in the future.

Nice Work There
Your film shines quite well in a couple areas. You did a really good job exposing your film properly. The interior shots looked really great. The use of montage which Nora Ephron uses quite a bit in her films was a nice touch. but with only 5 minute you spent a lot of your script time there. A couple areas I would have like to have seen some improvement on or more work put toward it and they would have been a tighter script and the acting. Nice work though.

Pen Lovers
I think the concept behind this story is good but it didn't seem thought out as well as it could have been. The characters didn't really seem believable and it all was too convenient. I would like to have seen more thought put into the dialogue and story structure. The cinematography was pretty decent. Everything was well exposed. For the most part the sound was there and I understood everything.

Nice Aspect Ratio
Love your choice of aspect ratio. It really makes your film more cinematic. It was great on your interiors but really showed off the landscape in your exteriors. You've got a great little story there so now up your production value by using some lights on your interiors. You've got talent so really start paying attention to the details of camera movement, blocking, lighting, color and sound design and you'll be surprised at the difference that it will make.
