I get the sense that romance is not the genre these filmmakers typically make. Romance films are really hard to get right. It's all about character and story. No fancy camera tricks or CGI to save you. The cinematography could have been better in this piece. The strong point was the acting.

Making movies takes a while to get right. It's hard and sometimes soul crushing when audiences don't like our hard work. I like the story that these filmmakers have displayed. It's a time tested storyline and it works. The cinematography could have been better with just a little lighting.

LOL is an interesting film, but need to clean up editing and camera work

You did a pretty good job with your film here. You got great coverage of your scenes and you did a nice job composing some of your shots. I would have like to have see a couple angels of the scene sitting on the floor and I would have like to have seen you do more with your lighting. It was pretty flat as is and I'd like to have seen more camera movement. Keep making films and honing your skills.

I really liked the performances of the actors, especially Jack. This type of story is as old as time but these young filmmakers prove that it still works. The cinematography was the biggest slip. The exposures were not great, the focus was soft on a few shots and there was little to no lighting. In the end, it was Jack's performance that brought me around. I wanted to see more of him on the screen.
