Wished this was a full feature length movie!
This was a fun film to watch. I love the acting and the jokes were really good. I like the story and is probably the most realistic one ever. Great Job!!
Great Writing
Very impressed with your writing here. You've got some great subtitles going on in the writing and it's quite clever. Your actors really got into their groove by the end and the dialogue back and for really started to work. If you had rehearsed it quite a bit more the whole piece would have been at the same lever that the end of your film is. You chose one location and with that there were only a couple set ups so you would have had the time. Well done though. I enjoyed your film.
Really Nice Acting
The writing and the acting are really strong in this film. When it first started it felt like it might be weak, but as I continued to watch, it really got better and better. I think the environment of the set, lighting, extras, candles and some food would have really put it over the top. I guess what I'm saying is that it could use some production design. Still, I really liked it quite a bit.
A Great Concept
You created some nice uncomfortable moments at the beginning which set the stage well. You did a good job getting coverage of the scene. A few insert shots would have really helped you tell your story. I like that you went to a location for the meal so that was good but I would have liked to have seen a bit more ambiance. Put it in a darker setting and use some lights. Really creating the mood that he was hoping for. The acting could have been rehearsed more but got good by the end.
Single Scene Film
Very interesting to do a single scene film and keep the viewers attention. This can be very hard to do even for big time Directors.
So Nora Ephron! I love it!
Okay, this little film really grew on me, and by the time I was at the end, I was pretty blown away with the writers. They really hit some nice beats with this scene. They set up moments or lines that they knew were going to pay off by the time the scene was over. This is so very Nora Ephron. The performances were fantastic as well. I really liked them both. If the setting was more convincing it would have given this a near-perfect score.
