Nora Ephron Embodied
Your film was a lot of fun. Sometimes a little on the nose with the actors performances but you captured the essence of Ephron. The crossing of paths is a classic storytelling device. And the two unlikely people meeting and coming to understand or like each other. I really liked your effort there. It's not easy to show a relationship develop in 5 minutes but you did a pretty good job there. Sometimes a little quick...maybe a few longer montages showing progress. Nice work
Scoring Makes The Points
There were some really nice camera moves and blocking in this film. I thought the filmmakers did a great job, at times. There were also some times where blocking and cinematography slipped a bit. I thought the script was pretty well thought out as well and the acting was sometimes great and sometimes thin. It's interesting that the same filmmakers could nail a certain scene and then not do quite as well in the next scene.
Nice Concept Here
Nice reveal of the title-well done. Great blocking as you go from one character to the other! It really felt polished. Your coverage in the study session was there but it felt unbalanced with the framing. A lot of dead space on sides of your characters. Lessen your depth of field and have both in frame but a little more to the side of them which would have put one of them out of focus. Nice script and concept but the acting took me out of it. Rehearsals would have really helped. Good job though.
Scoring scored
I really enjoyed this film. Great camera work, just a little weak in audio
Peew Peew!
This was much better than most other films of this genre. I liked both of the characters and the script had a nice through-line. The acting could have been more believable but I was super impressed with how the director moved the camera to set up the story in the opening. My favorite part was the peew, peew at the end.
