Flamingo

A group of teens are at a pool party. Jake has a huge crush on a girl named Tiffany. The problem is she has a boyfriend, who to Jake's dismay is a wrestler. By accident Jake pushes her in the pool, publicly humiliating her. Her boyfriend is no help, mocking her the entire time. Jake in a last ditch effort throws a flamingo shaped raft into the pool to try to “save” Tiff. Tiffany and her boyfriend both think that this is stupid. She gets out of the pool and goes to sit by herself. Jake goes back to her friends who convince him to go talk to her. Jake goes over to Tiff to try to talk things out. As he awkwardly stumbles over his words as he tries to make things right. Tiff, who is now considering dumping her boyfriend, decides to do it herself and asks out Jake. He obviously says yes!

Funny but a little too random

average rating is 3 out of 5

Some moments of this film were funny but I did notice some slight audio issues along with it being a little bit difficult to find the plot of the story, Jake was a good actor and so was the wrestler, the rest could use some work and some of the camera angles and cuts could also use some work but overall a funny cute film.

Nice film, and not bad writing

average rating is 3.8 out of 5

The acting is good and writing is alright. The cinematography is great.

Great Comedy

average rating is 4 out of 5

Nice work here. I thoroughly enjoyed your film. Some of the comedic timing was perfect. I thought your two supporting characters were quite funny and great actors. The sound was quite uneven which takes the audience out of you film and there were a few lines that I couldn't hear very well. Your last scene was well shot. You could have use a little light on your actors to have them pop a bit and separate them out from everything else. Great work. A lot of fun to watch. Quite refreshing!

Really Fun Energy

average rating is 3.2 out of 5

This was one of my favorites from the SkillsUSA 2021 contest. The directors were not just having fun, their fun was seeping through the footage an onto the screen. It was funny but felt real enough that I was never taken out of the story. It worked on many levels. There were a few audio issues and I think the friend's performances and dialogue could have been tightened up. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I give it high marks.

A Great Little Film with Chemistry and Comedy

average rating is 3.2 out of 5

I really loved your film. Though some of the comedic timing missed you nailed a lot of it. Well done. I was also impressed with the acting of the trio of guys...great editing there too which helped along with the quick camera moves to accentuate the delivery. That being said there were a few performances that weren't so great. Make sure you do multiple takes until you get the performances just right. You're audio quality really took me out of your film and is so easy to do right. Keep it up.

Good film, bad sound

Enjoyed the story, but sound quality needs to be improved on.

All Around Well Done

Great use of depth of field. The writing is also very strong. The characters are also very strong and the acting is surprisingly good. I was a little shocked at how good this little film is. There were a few wide shots where the audio wasn't great but that's forgivable because the rest of things worked so well.
