A Sunny Day In Anchor Bay
Lora is walking through the streets of a city looking for the local news station. Paul is a local weatherman participating in a live weather forecast. Lora joins a tour of the news station where the tour group is brought to the news floor during a live broadcast. As Paul is talking to the camera he glances at the entering tour group. The two main characters make eye contact and become entranced as they haven’t seen each other in a very long time. This causes Paul to blank on a live broadcast. He snaps back into reality and finishes his show. He walks up to Lora and asks her to get coffee with him. The two go to a park and begin to chat. Their excitement looms over them, causing their conversations to be flirtatious and playful. They laugh about something. Silence creeps in and Paul’s smile fades. Paul gets sad because of how much he’s missed Lora. “Why’d you leave me?” “What do you mean I left you?” Their flirting then transforms into bickering. Their voices get louder and something Lora yells serves as the final blow to the fight. Pauls says a joke.

They Met Across A Camera Filled News Room
I think these filmmakers did a good job of building up to that last moment when the girl shows up in the news room. The scenes were well thought out and I liked how they used their school broadcast stage. The lighting and audio could have had more attention paid to them however. I think the strongpoint of this little film is the writing.
Great Concept
The idea behind this project is pretty solid. The problem begins when filmmakers try to tell stories that are written for older actors. It's the first thing that pulls me out of a story. The cinematography could have used some lighting. Most of the interior shots were underexposed. That ending moment works well but could have been extended a bit.
The Weather Forecasters Dilemma
You've got the start of a good idea here. You just need to spend more time developing it. Really lay out the beats on paper so that you can see the arc of your story. You'll really be able to see where the holes are and where the stories working. Development will really make a huge difference to your films. Keep making films...with every film my make you'll get better each time.
A Sunny Day Indeed
I really enjoyed this story. Simple and complex. Great acting and production work
Great Writing!
The writing of this film stands out. As do the performances. There were a few editing bumps and some audio issues, but I was really brought into the story when the two see each other. The filmmakers really made me feel something, which is what movies are all about. Well done!
