Review This Film
Be a Critic Every film here was made by a student who took a risk. Your job is to engage with it seriously — rate the craft, write something honest, and mean it. Scores are blind until all reviewers are in. Nobody sees anything until everyone has spoken. That's the deal.

The Verdict Every score you see here was written without anyone knowing what the others would say. No groupthink. No piling on. Five independent voices, revealed all at once. Read the reviews, not just the numbers — that's where the real feedback lives.

This is a wonderful concept that takes the tone of the great 80's film, Splash. I really, really wanted to hold on that moment when Martia asks, "are we lovers"? That was such a great moment. I wanted to see his reaction and him growing more and more uncomfortable. There is a lot of green screen in this and that stuff is really hard to pull off well. The story and the heart of this short film are endearing. I could see this making a wonderful full-length feature film.

Although this little film is plagued with all sorts of green screen composites, it has a heart that shines through. I feel that if the filmmakers had more time to really get their shots technically worked out and polished, this little film could have been wonderful. It had a great idea that was burdened by too many technical issues.

I love your effort with your visual effects. You've got some talent there. Keep honing that skill. You made some bold choices with your story and you tackled quite a bit. One thing that would have really helped your story was rehearsing your actors. Really workshop the scenes until the acting comes across as natural and then shoot. It doesn't take a lot of time but makes all the difference to your films. Keep up the good work.
Reminds Me of Splash

The basic story reminded me of Splash. I thought these students attempted something really difficult when doing so much green screen. It's really hard to make green screen work correctly and it always slows the production pace down. There was really no reason to do so much green screen. The locations could have been faked with hallways in almost any building. I really like the story however and I thought the title was creative. Great job!
