Crutch 100% recommend

average rating is 4.9 out of 5

A excellent short film,This film showed the viewers what the experience of a girl who's disability helped her find self discovery and that there is a life worth living, even in silence. it has all the story structure elements in place and great cinematic coverage including depth of field and good sound design. The acting was impressive and made the story come together especially with the point of views and scenery.

Would Recommend for Beginner Film Makers

average rating is 4.5 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed this short film! I thought that the writing and the story was very thought out and the ending fit the story perfectly. However, the actor for Jake could have used a bit more practice because some of his lines felt a bit forced. But other than that I thought that all of the elements of this film fit together very well. I would recommend this film to beginner film makers as an example of great writing, editing skills, and great cinematography.

best film i've seen on here

great plot not a whole lot of room for improvement, maybe a few minor audio issues but nothing too unsettling, I don't know if lily was really deaf but the signing seemed clear to me and she spoke and read lips clearly

Inspring and Looks Pretty

average rating is 3.9 out of 5

I think this film has very pretty shots, and the lighting looks very beautiful at times. During the waterfall scene, it was hard to hear the actors, and occasionally the lines seemed cliche. But I really enjoyed the message of the film, it was very inspiring!

This is a really good film and would recommend watching it now. I love the fact that they are coming out to show people that not everyone is perfect and that you should never give up even if you have a disability.

Exceptional Artistry

Unfortunately I only have 500 characters to tell you how great I feel you film is...First and foremost, congrats on being so creative with your story. The writing is superb. Your dramatic arc is exactly what it should be. You have all the story structure elements in place. Great cinematic coverage, depth of field, exceptional sound design, score, inserts performances. If I had any advice...I would say, rehearse with your actors. Jake at times could was a little rigid but a little. Beautiful!

Superb Filmmaking

average rating is 4.3 out of 5

Where do I start. What a great attention to detail in all aspects of your filmmaking. The script is well developed and thought out. The cinematography is spot on. Way to use depth of field, it makes such a difference. The performances could have used a little more rehearsal but they were still great. You unfortunately lost points because you went over the time allotment but I'm sure you thought the credits were outside of the time limit. Keep making films! It was a pleasure to watch.

Crutch Needs No Support

average rating is 4.5 out of 5

These young filmmakers are truly talented. They seem to be able to write, shoot, act and tell a story visually that is heartwarming and moving. I'm truly shocked at the talent level of this team. If they decide to make a go of it in the film industry, I'd keep my eye out on the silver screen for their names.

I Love It When Students Are This Good

Okay, I could tell from the opening shot that the cinematography was going to be good, but C'MON! You guys crushed it. That you brought some lights with you to the top of the building... so appreciative of your efforts. The acting was completely believable. The use of depth of field was magnificent! Then there's the tiny aspect of the script. Sheesh, how great was that? If you see one film from SkillsUSA, this is it!
