A Villain Without a Cause

average rating is 3 out of 5

With a scary movie, you can do more with the sound than just adding music. Add screaming, footsteps, breathing, and so on will help tell the story. The story wasn't clear to me. Who was the villain, and why didn't they kill the second person? Another piece of advice I give to students making horror films is to show the villain LESS than you think. You mostly want to stick with the main character, and rarely can you make the villain's quest the main storyline.

Hunting the Hunted

I like your concept here. Great choice of music and your pacing was quite good. A couple takes were a little long that slowed that down but nice work. Quite a bit more attention could have been given to the cinematography. A thriller can really be boosted by lighting and camera work. Using light to help tell your story can be a great asset. Nice work though. Keep it up.

I'm Hunting For A Good Thriller

Great tension! This film displays a strong understanding of cinematic storytelling. The script is interesting but could have been improved by letting the audience in on the whole hunting thing just a bit more. I liked that the next victim was listed on the phone with a photo. Nice Touch. The music is well done and adds to the tone of the show. I can't wait to see what these young filmmakers make next.

This is a wonderful short film. Although no dialog, it was easy to follow and understand the story being projected. It it shot well and the music adds to the drama of the film, Very well done!

Searching for More

average rating is 2.5 out of 5

For a no dialogue film, It didn't take much to follow the plot. However, it is very one note and difficult to really care about any of the characters. Edits were solid but the camera work was very shaky and had issues with focus and composition. Music, while fitting, was overpowering at times, drowning out what little ambient sound was available. Direction, was focused and allowed movement to feel natural.
