Off The Trail

Nice work. You had quite a few great looking shots. One note is to really pre-visualize your story to assure that you'll what you want to come across comes across. An example that could have been better was when the one kid wonders off. From a visual perspective it didn't feel that he wondered very far. Really storyboarding this out would help you to see what you need to shoot in order to give that sense of time passage or distance between the two of them.

Stay on the Path

Story had a promising premise, but fell short. The second act was too rushed and missed the mark. Performances were ok, but stayed one note through out. Filming was well done. Camera work pretty solid with few framing issues. Edits were uneven. Solid effort all around.

A Lot of Good Things to Say

These filmmakers did some innovative things with the phone calls, and I also picked up some rack focus moves as well. You demonstrated that you knew how to tell a story and capture it visually. Your understanding of filmmaking was on display and did you credit. Your DP did a great job of shooting it. It's not easy to get some of those low light conditions. Well done. Next time do a better job of putting our your fire. hahaha.
